Ochre Sky Circle and Memoir Writing Workshop - new dates announced
Writing about one's life can be a healing, joyful and transformative process - both for the writer as well as readers. Join Natasha Badhwar on this intimate journey.
I don’t remember doing anything else that given me so much solace, fulfilment and peace. The Ochre Sky writing workshops and circles have made me a calmer, efficient, more emotinally regulated person and I love that writing together in community has immense unexpected benefits, besides producing essays, poems and performances from us!
New dates for upcoming Writing Workshops and Writing Circles:
1. Ochre Sky Writing Circle (OSC) - 10 April 2026 to 29 May 2026
A 2 month online writing engagement, facilitated by Natasha Badhwar and other wise and creative guest facilitators, the Ochre Sky Writing Circle is a joyful, compassionate community of writers who read, write and celebrate together.
We believe that writing and sharing stories from our life is both an ancient and radically contemporary tool for healing. It allows individuals to reclaim their voice, make meaning of chaotic or painful experiences, and connect with others through resonance. The act of articulation turns private burdens into shared truths. The response of a listening community — “I see you, I hear you, I recognise myself in you” — transforms isolation into belonging.
Salient Features:
Creativity and Writing activities in online sessions every fortnight
Weekly prompts for writing
Appreciating form and craft
Exploring new genres like poetry, fiction, art illustrated storytelling and spoken word
Boasts and celebrations
Feedback and appreciation
Word games
Inspiration, kindness and awe will fill our writing lives as we find joy and healing in words.
This space welcomes all the writers who have been part of the various workshops facilitated at Ochre Sky - Memoir and other creative writing cohorts.
2. Ochre Sky Memoir workshop (OSW) - September 2026
A 5 session online Writing Workshop, facilitated by Natasha Badhwar and other wise and creative guest facilitators.
Choose between these 2 cohorts:
Tuesday mornings: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 September 2026
OR
Saturday mornings: 5, 12, 19, 26, 27 September 2026 | (+ 1 Sunday)
Time slot: 10am - 1pm
The Memoir workshops with Natasha Badhwar offer an empathetic space for writers to practice their unique voice and craft personal narratives that are resonant and evocative. We co-create a joyful, supportive community of writers who appreciate each other and help us become accountable to our goals. We tap into our stories to help us feel seen and heard.
The workshop includes personalised feedback for each participant which is tailored to the writer’s unique needs, challenges and strengths.
Collectively we shall speed-write as well as slow-write to prompts that evoke compelling essays that are intimate, thought-provoking and deeply honest. As one sifts through memories, emotions and personal experience to connect the personal to the universal, writing about one’s life can be a healing, joyful and transformative journey, both for the writer as well as readers.
Natasha Badhwar is a writer, teacher and film-maker. She is the author of My Daughters' Mum and Immortal For A Moment and is teaches Media Studies and Creative Writing at Ashoka University in India.
