Osho says : Dance is the nearest expression of godliness. God is expressing itself through this world like a dancer ie Nataraja.

An artist can be separated from his art but not the dancer.

My spiritual journey started in 70’s with dancing like you are dancing today, and culminated in discovering the answer of ‘Who am I’’ from within on Rakhi or 2017.

It is a blessing in disguise, trust me.

This is just the beginning the best is yet to come.

In an intense state of no-mind we discover the answer of ‘Who am I?’ from within. It is experienced in present moment only, and then afterwards we are never going to fall out of it. This regaining of eternal present moment after loosing it in adolescent age makes us authentic being and we remain same afterwards. This is a guarantee that we are going to remain same, vibrating in harmony with present every moment, in future also.

This essay somehow has the same energy and love of dance that the thirteen year old Nishi unleashed that day on the unsuspecting audience. The universe MUST conspire to make sure that you dance everyday!!❤️❤️

Noirtanki,

I am so surprised to know that someone else’s school journey could be so similar to mine.

And this breaking into a dance the moment one hears a dance number is so true.

Like you, I am pushing my 40 as well and I manage to embarrass my sons as I can still dance anywhere and anytime. 🤭

Thank you for writing this. Loved every sound of it. ❤️

Such an engaging and relatable read! And love the sprinkling of Hindi words too. May you never run out of music ( and reasons or not) to dance.

How this piece made me miss my own pangs for dancing. I swayed helplessly to any music that touched my heart - I danced crazy - when I was a child. However, I grew up with two brothers who were just typical boys - teasing me, laughing at me. Instead of ignoring them, I let their childhood nuisance get to me. Hitting puberty where I grew curvacious faster than my peers didnt help me with my body image. I stopped dancing and totally forgot about it till I had my own girl who loved to dance. Just like me, she stopped dancing too because one of her close friends thought she was being childish. I'm seriously considering going back to dancing, and even taking classes to boost my confidence. Thank you for bringing back my childhood memories and reminding me of yet more goals to be pursued in my life :)

Dearest Sanobar,

Please take those dance classes. I try and do these workshops on some weekends and that always is the highlight of that week of mine.

Thanks, Sanobar! Thrilled to see you trace your steps back to a lost love! The estrangement from physical activity when girls hit puberty is all too real
