Thank you for this gorgeous follow up essay on home after the previous poignant one💛 The two, together, form an anthem on what home means✨ Will keep coming back to these words whenever I’m searching for home :)

Also, feeling very lucky to have witnessed you write and share this during our workshop 😌

Natasha the belonging in your essays is absent in many a home. Thank you for helping all of us find home.

This is nothing short of sorcery. How your words have continuously played hide and seek with me since 2012. I only know I need these words once they appear in front of me. I am that kid who thinks i am hiding so well and your words are the masterful ‘denner’ with the Dhappa (north Indian 90ies kids will recognise this vocabulary!). Thank you for building such a beautiful home for all of us, where you cook up a storm with delicious meals of words that nourish us with their vulnerability. How did i get so lucky? Itni badhiya daawat. Eid mubarak Natasha! 🤗

A home as warm, welcoming and loving as you ❤️. A home that reflects you so much, it makes me, the reader, also feel rooted.

Beautiful! I can't explain why but this line really got me: “Tumhare ghar mein deewar to hai nahi, calendar kahan tangoge?”

It is funny and quaint - hanging wall calendars were a definitive part of our childhood that has now vanished. But a house with only windows instead of deewars promises so much light and so many possibilities.

I think little bits of real details in stories and essays ground us somehow. There is a familiar affection and humour in the line. And it evokes memories in all of us.

Thanks!
